Haslett Vikings Tennis wins 7th straight League Championship

The top ten ranked Haslett Vikings boys tennis team won their 7th straight League title Thursday during the CAAC Red Tournament at St. Johns High School. The Vikings had an outstanding day, winning 7 of 8 flights to finish the season winning 55 of 56 individual matches in the CAAC Red.

Senior Nathan Choi (#1 singles) led the way, defeating St. Johns in the final. #2 singles Alex Stanulis won a good match against Charlotte. Henry Zayko at #3 singles and Ethan Fajardo at #4 singles were once again dominant, easily winning their flights. Henry (21-5) and Ethan (22-4) lead the team in wins.

In doubles, Seniors Luke Bollman and Sam Zayko (#1 doubles), along with seniors Bruno Takahashi and Matt Bidigare (#2 doubles) played strong tennis throughout the day to win their flights. Senior Jae Han and freshman Logan Mowid were victorious at #3 doubles. At #4 doubles, Nolan Kelley and Nate Stewart lost a close 3 setter to Dewitt in the final.

The Vikings next face East Lansing at home on Tuesday Oct. 10th and then host the Regional championship on Thursday Oct. 12.
